It's been a while

I feel like it's been ages since the last time I published a blog post, however fear not for I have some new features I'm planning to add over the next month or so. Just before we get started I hope everyone is fit, healthy and happy. Make sure you're looking after those weary legs you earn your downtime.

Holidays

Surprisingly it’s not one that has been requested until recently which surprises me. As it stands if you need to plan a holiday for a client you would need to remove them from walks planned in your calendar which could be annoying if you have a dog that’s away for two weeks and you walk them five days a week.

The calendar events will now see an additional option which will allow you to mark a dog as being on holiday. You’ll simply select which dog you want to create a holiday for, enter the start and end date and then woof DiggDawg will take care of the rest. What you will see is...

  • An upcoming notification on the dashboard of a client's holiday similar to how a birthday would show.
  • You wont need to remove them from any groups this will be done for you
  • An event will be added to the dog's history noting the details of the holiday.
  • Automatically will reflect in your income on the admin tab

Not too shabby one might say.

Day exemptions for group walks

An interesting request I received was to be able to remove dogs from a group on a certain day the group is marked in your calendar. Take the following, You walk a group let's say ‘The Morning Crew’ and this group is in your calendar Monday to Friday. Say Ernie is in this group but only Monday-Thursday as it stands you would need to make two groups or manually remove Ernie from Fridays walk.

The next update will allow you to add day exemptions per group on any specific day(s) you need it for. I don’t see you needing to utlise it all that much but still it's one less thing that you will need to do.

As a result of adding this feature the UI on the groups page will be amended for the better so keep an eye out for that.

ETA of arrival

I'll be breaking down these two features into seperate updates and you'll see holidays arriving hopefully by the end of September.

Any recommendations?

I’m letting the DiggDawg pack determine what they want to see from the app so if you have any feature suggestions or have spotted something you think isn’t right please let me know.

Much love Grahamne x
